It's my party

Good Day

This is a birthday card for a friend of mine. She loves blue, purple, white and a touch of pink. It is a bit of a challenge to make blue girly, but with a few challenges I've came up with this project. The digi is a freebie at Sassy Studio designs' monthly progressive challenge on Paper Craft Planet. Darlene made a beautiful project and I decided I also want this digi too. Somehow though, ever since I saw this image the song of "It's my party" stuck in my head. Somehow I wanted to incorporate a cocktail and when I saw the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches it all came together. The designer paper is from Papermania's Capsule collection. The dies are from Spellbinder and the cocktail glass from Sizzix. I've cut three layers, one of acetate and assembled it into a cocktail, with some glitter on the edge for the frosty look. Sentiment is from Cards en Scrap. Peel-offs and pearls finished everything off.

Challenges I'm entering:
That Craft Place - It's a girl thing
Sassy Studio Design - Dare to be Sassy 187 - Happy hour/ add a coctail
Tuesday Throwdown #158 - Birthday party
Anything goes Challenge #98 - Coffee break/ food

Tammy's Scrappin #73 - Use a digi

Something different

Tuesday 30 July Colour challenge at the Oultawz

Good day

This is my last day as guest designer at the Outlawz. They did had me in a corner with the twist.

One of my bible study friends lost her husband last week and I decided to make a small box with little tags in, where all the rest could write some message of condolences on and to put it in the box, so she can take her own time to read through them all.

I have found these beautiful green handmade paper at a shop on Saturday and it triggered everything. The dig is from Digistamp4Joy and the flowers are made with the use of a Sizzix die from Susan's Garden, called Poppy Flower. I used a glossy tissues paper for the petals. I added a ribbon to keep the box in tack and 3 pearls.

Challenges I was inspired by:
Pattie's creations #72 - Recipe use 3 embellishements
One Stop Craft #236 - Add ribbon & flowers
Tammy's Scrappin #73 - Use a digi
Eureka Stamps #50 - Anything goes
Digistamp4Joy SA #72 - Fancy folds plus handmade flowers (hope a box is a fancy folded item)

Thank you

Wedding/anniversary card

Good Day

We all have something sometimes that just trigger inspiration. Today, I want to share one project with two inspirations. Firstly the colour combo at Dynamic duos and the sketch from Sketchbook Saturday are two challenges that triggered this project and then all the anniversary challenges. I've taken a Irish blessing as sentiment and can either be used on a wedding or as anniversary. For a change I've dig out some clear stamps and gave it some ink with some clear embossing on the left. I've added some black, which I embossed with a piano motif. On the right I used the faux embossing method, which is actually very easy. You use the cut out pieces from the die cut and glued it to the surface. I used my butterfly die cut from Spellbinder. The butterfly is from Marianne's design and I used Fiskar tear edger for the shape.

Challenges I'm joining:
Dynamic Duos #62 - Coral Orange and basic black
One Stop Craft Challenge #235 - Make your own background
Glitter 'n Sparkle #42 - Weddings/Anniversaries
"ABC" Challenges ABC37 - Double embossing
Craft-room Challenge #56 - Heat Embossing

Random Acts of Creativity #101 (Sketchbook Saturday) -Sketch
Little Claire's Design #35 - Weddings / Anniversary
Di's Digi Designs - Wedding/Anniversary

Thank you for your visit and have a splendid day!

Christmas in July at the Outlawz

Good Day

It is Christmas in July in blogland. On the one hand it forces us to get all the Christmas cards ready, but on the other hand, who is thing about cold snowing weather when everybody is lying on the beach and enjoying the sun.....I meant almost everybody. Here in the southern hemisphere it is cold and probably just the right weather to get crafty.
This time I went to my 3D stash and got out this image that I've cut and put together. The image already had some glitter on it....to fit the twist for this week. I've found this Indian paper with the glittered snowflakes in my stash. Never thought I'll use it.

Creative Corner #28 - Let it sparkle

Then I've found this piece of paper in my Christmas stash and it had cream and glitter on it. So I was halve way there. I used SF presents. Added some glitter on the hat. Used some embossing on the bottom border and the sentiment is from my forgotten Christmas stash with glitter ribbon and bell.

With Thursday's challenge at Catch the bug, the challenge us to make a project with tags. I've decided to incorporate it in a card and have found this lovely sketch from ART Card Challenge just appropriate. I've used Santa in tube, found this lovely card stock in my Christmas stash and the piece of embossed card stock was on my table, from a previous unforgotten project. I added some snowflake eyelets and brad and some ribbon. Christmas will always bring out the child in me, even now, where we are back in a summer Christmas. Day 5 Catch the Bug week Long Christmas in July

Good Day

There is a new technique challenge - mix media - at the JUGS and you can find the tutorial here. Unfortunately I only had a Pine Needles green and Weathered Wood grey/blue, Distress ink and I used a Buff Titanium (cream) base acrylic paint. It came out a bit like a bad weather day. That gave the inspiration for the sentiment. As contrast I used Buried Santa from Bugaboo and tried to create a tropical scene in the right corner. For the most of you, Christmas is associated with snow, grey skies and cold weather. Where I stay we celebrate Christmas in the middle of our Summer holidays, though we had bad weather too, from time too time.

Challenges I'm joining:
JUGS #197 - Mix Media technique
Catch the Bug Day 5 - Humorist Christmas
Anything goes #97 - Anything goes

Thank you

My project

Close-up on sentiment and brads

Good day

I'm a bit behind posting. This is Monday's challenge at Catch the Bug. My raspberry is probably a bit lighter than requested. I took the sentiment from Desert Diva. I've used a Fiskar border punch and added some twine and stickers to form the lights. I had to adjust the colours of the brads, so I used some copper emboss powder for the notes.

Ready for a Christmas party

 My project
Sketch from Incy Wincy

Good Day

Officially it is the last day of our winter school holidays. Today I was inspired by the Christmas in July challenges. I wanted to do something with snowflakes(since it is a rear commodity in my country), but not the normal thing, so I'm joining in with the ruby red from Die Cuttin' Divas. A bit of contrast. I saw some great ideas in blogland that I wanted to try out. Though It is not so visible on my photo. I used heat glitter embossing on my snowflake corners and then added some glitter all around the edge of the red designer paper from the mistletoe collection, from BoBunny. The border emboss & punch is from Fiskar. I also used a frosted paper for my frame, made with die cut - Fleur de Lis Rectangles from Spellbinder. The digi is Ballroom Sassy from Sassy Studio Designs and she looks ready for a Christmas party. I'll also use the opportunity to join Patrice at her Old Back Porch for some more exposure. Ladybugs in my strawberry field

Good Day

It has been quite awhile since I played with Stella says sketch over at Catch the bug blog. This time I used the ladybug stack, but I combined it with another challenge about strawberry farms. I had to improvised and be very creative. In the end, I think it came out ok. I did not had any strawberries, but I had some material hearts. I used a flower die-cut, I have cut it in two for the top of the strawberries and added some 3D paint for the dots. The chevron paper is from the Mistletoe collection from BoBunny and the dotted paper from Simple Stories' Sn@p color vibe. I turned the sketch a bit and you almost get a strawberry feeling with the papers.
