Merry & Bright

Good Day

I have been very quiet late due to the fact that we were away for our summer holidays. We just came back and I thought I'll give you a bit of how we celebrate Christmas in South Africa. In a sense it is totally different from the Northern Hemisphere, since we have temperatures between 28°C & 40°C. Here, Christmas is in the middle of our summer school holidays and most people are on holidays, with friends and family and many of them next to our beautiful coast. They do celebrate it, like this little penguin from Digi Darla on the beach. The papers are from my stash and I used a Cuttlebug emboss folder and Spellbinder diecuts.

Challenges I joining:
The Outlawz Colour Challenge 18 December with twist of wings
Sweet Sketch Wednesday #185 - Sketch
Digi Darla's #42 - Holiday cheer with embossing

Thank you and wish you all a very blessed festive season and may love and laughter fill your days and may you make that unexpected call to an all forgotten one to spread some love!

Thank you for your presence in life!
Hugs

A small thank you

Hello

An addiction is a bad thing....a very bad thing. I have unpacked all my papers and crafts last week with the intention of concentrating on the neglected issues in my life, but I still come and visit blogland with a cup of tea. With all the thanksgiving challenges I thought I need to say thank you to a special family whom had an immense effect on my life this year and with this lovely sketch from the Outlawz it all became a domino effect. But then.... I decided I'll not post it, then Cindy did not let of the hook that easily, so here is my project. The digi is this week's freebie at A Day for Daisies also with a bunch of nice colours in their challenge. The designer paper is from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey pad. I used mulberry orange and a basic brown for the sentiment from Cuttlebug. The oval done with a Spellbinder and the swirls is from Marianne's designs and gems from stash.

Challenges I'm joining
A Day for Daisies #57 - Thankful heart and Autumn Colour challenge
Digi Darla's #38 - Thanksgiving / Thank you
Pile it On #47 - Yellow, Orange, Brown

Tea for one

Good Day

After a very tiring week I am back. Today is also the start of my boys' last 2 weeks of school and exams for this year. Short school days ahead, where I still have a lot to do before they stay at home.
It is also the last round at the Crafter's digital art centre's progressive freebie challenge and this time Priscilla gave us a bonus image, too. I decided to make a pocket card with the teapot where you can take out the lid for a message. I used a marble effect paper as base to print the images, where after I've cut it out. I've printed a mirror image of each so that you can look at it from both sides. I used another card stock to glue it to with a fold on the bottom to make it stand. I used H2O pencil to highlight the edges and I added some gold heat embossing.

Challenges I'm joining:
CDAC progressive challenge round 23 - cdacpc23 priscillastyles

One Stop Craft Challenge 10/11 - Anything goes

I also played with my favourite challenge over at Shelly's image called Roll 'Em, where you have numbers 0 - 9 with a requirement at each and you use random org. to find out with what you have to play. Autumn scene

Good Day

Though almost everybody in blogland is celebrating autumn, we are celebrating spring, though I have to admit that our current weather is a bit odd. It is still kind of cool, round 20-22°C maximum. I do hope the weather will sort it out this coming month so we can have some summer in December.
It is time for a new colour challenge at the Outlawz and I just could not resist these lush colours and their cute inspirational photo! The digi is from Beccy's place....can't remember, but I think it was a freebie a while ago. I've coloured it with H2O and I used pigment ink for the distressing. The papers is from my stash and the leave swirls is done with a Marianne's design Creatables.

Currently I'm occupied between school activities and preparations for our annual Christmas market. So, another 2 week of running around before I can relax and think of the end of the year preparations.

Hubby spoiled me with new Creatables from Marianne's design and I really looked for a reason to use them and a nice autumn card was just the right reason. This is a fall fairy digi from Digistamp4Joy, I used H2O and some Perfect Pearl powder from Ranger for the wings, to colour it. Little birdie told me.....

Good Day

Saturated Canary had a freebie over the weekend and I just could not resist bringing her to life on paper and while I joined Tuesday Morning Sketches last week and they invited me over to Theresa's virtual party, not only celebrating her birthday but also because she is a survivor. I just could not resist with this beauty! She looks so fragile with the newly born birdie on her side. This time I really had to dig deep into my stash. I used this rose vellum paper of which I am very stingy as well as the ivory cardstock. The Spellbinder diecut laid on my table from a previous project for which I did not used. The corner is done with a Cuttlebug template. and the flowers and pearls are from my stash and the digi was coloured with H2O pencils.

Special day celebrations

Good Day

Since last week Wednesday I played with ideas on how to join the Play Date Café's big birthday bash! Last night it started to take form in my head and I had a moment to put it to paper this afternoon. The only difference is that my Best Wishes rubber stamp saw the end of its life, so I had to improvise with something else. In the end I used my Inkadinkado stamps fro the swirls and for the sentiment. I also used some glitter heat embossing on the sentiment. Added a ribbon for a finishing touch.

Challenges I'm joining:
The Play Date Café #154 - Purple, Mulberry & flame
Charisma Cardz #41 - Clean and simple
Fashionista #8 - Anything goes

Sea you around

Good Day

This time I played around with my favourite all-time technique. I used to do a lot of decoupage or 3D cards in the past, but with digital medium I became spoiled. For today I've combined the two. This pelican were a freebie at the beginning of the month at Digistamp4Joy. Their new challenge started on Wednesday, with anything goes with the twist of a masculine card. As all challenge blogs, they prefer to see their own images. I played with a few option and then I remembered this 3D papers I have and thought this will do. Create a sea frame. I kept the papers neutral, with only embossing and a touch of a gold glitter pen. I have a scrapbook template for the sea star, but had to modify it to fit to the project and then just added some peel off sentiment.

Challenges I'm joining:
Digistamp4Joy # 53 - Anything goes with a masculine twist
Sweet Sketch Wednesday #176 - Sketch

Typical SA male diet

 Di's Digi's Grill King
The Outlawz Tuesday Colour combo with twist of cooking
Sketch Twisted Tuesday with the twist of using glitter/shimmer spray

Good Day
Traditionally in South Africa we love to have a barbecue over weekends. We love meat and a lot of it too. We also tend to joke to say a typical male diet in our country is a piece of meat in the one hand and a beer in the other. With Outlawz twist I played around with a few options but in the end this Grill King Digi from Di's Digis just had the head sart. I used paper from my stash and on the striped green paper I used some shimmer mist. Hope it is visible on the photo. For the first time in ages I used my star corner punch and added some star brads in the corners.
Challenges I'm joining:
The Outlawz Tuesday 10/16 Colour combo with the twist of cooking
Sketch Twisted Tuesday 2TC28 - Sketch with the twist of shimmer mist
Digistamp4Joy #53 - Anything goes with the twist of masculine card.

Thank you and have wonderful weekend.

Bon Voyage

 My project

 Close-up on heat embossing

Good Day

Just a quick post before I have to put off the computer. This was a special request that I had to make. So I combined the sketch and colour combo and, again I digged through my stash. I had these scrapbook papers also almost forever now. I did a cross cut and folded it open. The stamp is from Magnolia, which I cutted out and mounted with some 3D foam and the earth tag was done with a Artemio stamp. I had to improvise for a sentimen, so I used a Fiskar shapeboss alphabet to emboss the sentiment and then I used clear sparkle powder in heat embossing on it.

Challenges I'm joining:
Addicted to  Stamps - Sketch Challenge #3
Colour Throwdown CTD214 - Colour Combo

Sketch from Incy Wincy

Good Day

While I was busy crafting, the weather changed drastically. From a bright sunny day to a threatening thunderstorm. In a a sense I am said, since my boys will not be able to go to a swimming party.
Now, for my card. This digi is from Digi Darla called cute girl and the sentiment I've taken once again from Facebook. This time I played with a colour combo of pink, orange and yellow, that seems not to pop until I've started to dig through my stash. I had this indian multi coloured paper since I do not know when and it just fit into the colours without being to harsh. I've used a Marianne's design scallop diecut, Nellie Snellen round diecut and my favourite fiskar border punch for the centre daisy chain. I used a Cuttlebug tag for the sentiment. The flowers are from my stash.

Hang on tight....

 Good Day Everyone

We had some rain last night and though the weather forecast said more rain with a lot of clouds we woke up to a crisp fresh sunny day. Everything look so clean this morning. You almost feel like working in the garden and be outdoor. I have to finish some projects on my table though, since my time is running out.
This time I was inspired by the sketch and colour combo. It is so girly and delicate and I tried to reflect it with my addition of these layers of lace and a butterfly diecut from Marianne's design. The sentiment I've taken from facebook, once again. A bit of encouragement for someone whom might feel a bit under the weather. The designer paper is from First edition Leaf collection and I used a spellbinder butterflies diecut on the back. All goodies from my stash.

Fairytale mushrooms

Good Day

I'm between taxi drives, so I thought I'll start this post. It is round 22 over at the Crafter's digital art centre's freebie progressive challenge. This time we had the choice between 2 digi's. My first choice is one from Digistamp4Joy. I know in the Northern hemisphere the search for edible mushrooms is on. I just love the flowers in this digi. I used papers from a magazine and a Marianne's design diecut for the bigger flower circle. The smaller flowers were done with a x-cut daisy diecut and I finished it of with peel-off sentiment and some red pearls.
